Hon. Morrison Ehimuan the Coordinator of the Edo Central Past and Serving Councilors Forum, gave a hint on his cardinal agenda that will foster the desired growth and development of Esan West Local Government Area as well as enhance the well being of its inhabitants. Having been saddled with the responsibility of overseeing this Forum of intellectuals with relevant exposures and representing their various wards, gave him the rare privilege to be acquainted with the various issues and challenges prevalent in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State. These were his views on what his contribution would be when elected as the Chairman of the Local Government Area: AGRICULTURE, We shall strengthen the various Farmers’ Unions and constantly engage them with a view to knowing the areas where they would need Local Government interventions, in order to enhance their farming activities. Emphasis will also be placed on the maintenance of earth roads leading to the farms in order to guarantee efficient transportation of farm produce to the market.EDUCATIONWe shall support primary education by the donation of free notebooks to primary school pupils of the Local Government on yearly basis. We shall also enforce strict supervision of staff in order to ensure that there is effective teaching and learning at that level of education. GENERAL SANITATION.It is very disheartening to note the state of the poor sanitary conditions of our environment, particularly, with the way, waste are disposed on our roads, culverts and drainage paths, during and after the rains. In the light of this, I would like to assure our good people of Esan West Local Government Area that we shall strive to keep our environment clean by adopting the following approach: a). We shall embark on vigorous enlightenment on the need to keep our environment cleanb). We shall enact or enforce relevant laws to deal with offenders or perpetrators of this unsightly actsb). We shall partner with the Landlords and Caretakers of all the houses along the roads and adjoining roads leading to the Royal Market to ensure the provision and adequate use of trash bins within the Metropolis.c). In order to ensure its sustenance, we shall promote a periodic public awareness through mobile announcement, reminding the people of proper use of the provided trash bins.4. BOOST IN IGR`We shall put in place seamless and transparent structures in our methods of revenue collection, such as the use of technology. This would help to reduce leakages and thereby leading to an enhanced revenue generation5. INFRASTRUCTURE.Priority will be given to the building of Schools, Roads and Markets based on availability of funds. For the avoidance of doubt, we shall place emphasis on capital projects during my tenure 6. EARTH ROAD.We shall embark on constant grading and maintenance of earth roads across the Local Government Area. 7. SECURITYUnder my watch as Chairman of the Local Government, I will reorganize and strengthen the existing Local Vigilante so as to be able to provide adequate security, particularly in the border towns of the Local Government Area. 8. YOUTH EMPOWERMENTWe shall embark on aggressive youth empowerment programmes. As a first step, we shall provide working tools for young skilled workers in all the ten wards of the Local Government Area. 9. INTEGRITY/LOYALTY. I will uphold transparency in all matters.
