MANGROVE PEOPLE LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE– MAPLI

VOICE OF THE SOUTH-SOUTH 

THE VISION: 

To build a united and better South-South of our dream as a legacy even for our generation unborn. 

THE MISSION: 

To mobilize all the citizens of Edo state and the entire South-South of Nigeria in promoting competent and upright leadership acumen for the excellent service of good governance and development across Edo state and the entire South -South region of Nigeria under the platform of one voice. 

IDEOLOGIES/OBJECTIVES: 

THE MANGROVE PEOPLE LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE (MAPLI) is a Non-Governmental, Non-Political, Non-Partisan, Non-Profit Oriented and Non-Violent, but the Apex Pan Social Cultural Organization in the South-South, whose aim and objectives are as follows; 

1. To use the initiative as a collective “voice” of the people of South-South to attract attention for economic empowerment and development through established instruments of dialogue and consultation under one voice. 

2. To use the initiative to advocate and support the campaign for good governance and peaceful coexistence within and outside the South-South region of Nigeria. 

3. To use the initiative to campaign for the use of dialogue and other constitutional means to fight for our “RIGHTS” instead of using the confrontational violent approach. 

4. To use the initiative to liaise with other relevant organizations and sister NGO’s with similar aims and objectives to achieve our targets. 

5. To use the initiative to build a platform that can guarantee the less privileged in the South South the opportunity to have a sense of belonging in their ancestral land and in the Nigeria states. 

6. To use the initiative to uphold and promote equity, fairness and justice as a panacea for national integration within and outside South-South. 

7. To use the initiative as a platform to demand for social welfare and the collective interest of members and the South -South region in line with the identified aims and objectives through the instrumentality of sincerity of purpose by the leadership of the group at all levels. 

8. To use the initiative to foster the spirit of love, oneness and unity among the people of SouthSouth of Nigeria despite the seeming cultural and ethnic differences. 

9. To use the initiative to promote patriotism and protect the political, socio economic and cultural interest of all the South- South people in Nigeria and in diaspora. 

10. To use the initiative to promote peace, progress and understanding amongst the various ethnic nationality in South- South and Nigeria at large. 

11. To use the initiative to stimulate and sustain an accelerated programme that will liberate all our South -South communities both land and sea from all forms of Neo-colonialist Shackles and eliminate ignorance, illiteracy, wants, diseases and other anti-social and economic sabotage and oppression. 

12. To use the initiative to build much needed synergy and conscious bridge (educationally, politically and economically), between the past and the present political leaders, elders and youth of South -South etc.

This is our social contract to the people of Edo state, South -South, Nigeria. Long Live Mangrove People Leadership Initiative (MAPLI).
