                          The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo Central Senatorial Executive has been drawn to a meeting held in the residence of a sitting National Assembly member, who is an aspirant, within the Senatorial District where those in attendance, comprising of two PDP LGAs Chairmen and Ward Executive from Esan Central and Igueben Local Government Areas respectively and other invited persons purported to have endorsed the political aspirations and desires of the current sitting Senator representing the Senatorial District and the current serving member of the House of Representatives from Ekpoma in whose house the aforesaid meeting was held to re-contest for their currently held positions at the National Assembly, despite the fact that they are both serving their second term in office. The Senatorial Executive acknowledges the right of every Nigerian to aspire to elective position as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution (as amended). However, the Senatorial Executive condemned in a very strong terms the actions of the two aforesaid Local Government Party Executives in endorsing the duo National Assembly members as unconstitutional, void and of no effect whatsoever. The Senatorial Executive further state that,there no single Article in the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)as amended in 2017, that hives the two Local Government Party Executives to endorse any person or group of persons for elective positions. Thus, Party Executive Committee members are advised to be neutral at all times and avoid unconstitutional behavior. Finally, the Senatorial Executive wish to place on record that it will not tolerate any act from any party member or group of persons within the Senatorial District,no matter how highly placed they are that tends to undermine the Party constipation. consequently, No individual no matter how highly placed in the party has the call ANY PARTY MEETING within the Senatorial District. The article of our party Constitution are very clear and unambiguous. It is ONLY the Party Chairmen at all levels that are authorized to call any party meeting in conjunction with their respective secretaries. On the other hand, any party meeting that involves more than one Local Government area, is a Senatorial meeting that must be called by the Senatorial Chairman in conjunction with the Senatorial Secretary. In the light of the above, members are admonished to be law abiding in expressing their Democratic rights. That be said, please note that the Senatorial Executive will not hesitate to deal heavily with ANY one that commit further infraction against the Constitution of our party.
