Biography, Political History And Life of Ehis Olu Akhabue

The 65 years old ICT Consultant was not born with a silver spoon.

First of 11 children, he had the advantage of being raised by a disciplined, God- fearing and education loving father and a caring mother.

Whatever he is today is the product of deliberate choices, horned on hardwork and  trust in God.

Early enough in life, he discovered himself and realized that success does not come from just wishful thinking, but capacity to identify one’s potentials and drive them with gusto.

As early as in 1979, he had desired to venture into politics by joining the then Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN). In joining UPN, he saw politics and still sees it as a strong instrument of service to the people. He was discouraged by his father who was not comfortable with the murkiness of the waters that defines Nigerian politics.

Ehia Olu Akhabue is driven by a passion to serve humanity. His thoughts are powered by the desire to see that nobody is discriminated against on account of circumstances or accident of birth or background. 

Anybody who has had the opportunity to work closely with him will attest to his boundless generosity, his expansive love and glowing brightness of his friendship.

His vigorous mind and intellectual mobility are balanced, equally by awesome sense of understanding, which propels his spirit of willingness to give unstintingly to the needy.

Through the instrumentality of Richway Samaritans Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization, exclusively funded by himself and his wife, a good number of children from poor homes are enjoying education. 

As an ICT Consultant, Mr Akhabue had made his services available to the Nigerian power sector, National Examination Council (NECO) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) His footprints in these sectors still stand tall till date. 

Determined to help checkmate the disgusting incidences of oil theft through bunkering and pipeline vandalism, he once made a proposal on oil surveillance to the Federal Government of Nigeria. It was a patriotic gesture he honestly articulated based on his training and expertise in the field of Information and Communication Technology. 

Ehia Olu Akhabue is a patriotic Nigerian whose Esaness shines everywhere he goes. As a proud Esan son in America, he once  registered his car with a special plate number 'UROMI'. His desire to ensure uninterrupted water supply to all parts of Esanland burns with a crusading fury.

His greatest wish and dream as a politician is to see that Esanland is endowed with infrastructures- beginning with water infrastructure and then good and motorable roads. 

Given the mandate to the Senate, the revitalization of water project in Edo Central is a solemn obligation and top on his priority list.
