NOTICE OF DISCLAIMER.
The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Edo Central Senatoral District Executive has been drawn to notice of a meeting purportedly called at the instant of High Chief Tom Ikimi styled as “PDP Edo Central District Leaders Forum meeting”. The Senatoral Executive wishes to disassociate its self from the meeting and to further reinstate the position of the law to the effect that under the extant provisions of the constitution of our great party as amended in 2017, the authority to call any party meeting at the Senatoral level rest on the PDP State Vice Chairman/Chairman of Edo Central Senatorial District. It will amount to stating the obvious, that same goes for the local government party chairmen and the ward chairmen respectively. Our party is governed by our constitution, and its provisions are sacrosanct. Therefore no individual no matter how highly place can circumvent its provisions. Thus, in the light of the above, the purported meeting called by High Chief Tom Ikimi for the 8th of April 2022 at 2 pm at his residence in Igueben Is hereby declared illegal, as the convener High Chief Tom Ikimi lacks the locus standi and the constitutional powers to call the aforesaid meeting. For want of being repetitious, it is the Senatorial Secretary that is empowered constitutionally to send notice of meeting after the Senatoral Chairman has so direct. Consequently, our dear party leaders and members are therefore advised no to attend the said illegal meeting called by High Chief Tom Ikim.
Finally, the Senatoral Executive commend all the aspirants seeking to contest for the various elective positions under the sponsorship of our great party for their maturity and sense of responsibility with which they have conducted themselves thus far. Let us continue to be worthy ambassadors of our great party.
Long live the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)!
Long live PDP Edo Central Senatorial District.
Thanks.
Signed. Archbishop (Dr) Anthony Okosun, Senatorial Chairman
