In a rare and unique display of acceptance and support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the people of Emuhi in Esan Central Local Government Area trooped out in their thousands to celebrate the seasoned business mogul whom they described as a compassionate leader.

The guber candidate and his entourage were hosted by the convener, Asue Ighodalo Patriot, Mr. Paul Smith Eghobor in his home town in Emuhi on Sunday the 20th of May 2024.

The excited electorates thrilled Dr. Asue Ighodalo and the campaign team to fine song while many others were chanting different slogans such as "Asue is our own," "We will support Ighodalo for infrastructural development," and "We need a man of compassion".

In their separate remarks, the Esan West Local Government Council Chairman  Hon Collins Aigbogun, Converner Asue Ighodalo Patriot, Mr. Paul Smith Eghobor; Managing Director Mind Cast Hotel, Mr. Joel Aidamebor all noted that Dr. Ighodalo is loved and respected by people of Emuhi and Esan West in general, stressing the PDP gubernatorial candidate has the capacity to continue with the developmental agenda of the governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki led administration.

On the lingering electricity issue that has grand economic activities in the community for years, the Esan West council Boss promise to donate transformer to the Community to put an end to the electricity problem in the community.

They maintained that Emuhi community has always given 100 percent votes to PDP candidates and assured that the forth coming governorship election, their votes will also be given to the PDP candidate.

The stakeholders commended Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki for his developmental strides in the area and urged Dr. Asue Ighodalo to do when he assumes office.

In his address, Dr. Asue Ighodalo appreciated them for their show of support, adding that he has always loved the people of Emuhi and Esan West in general.

According to him, "I’d like to say that I’ve always fallen in love with my people. Let your heart not be troubled. I do not know how to make fake promises. This is the first time I’m speaking to you people generally and I’d like you to take me at my words. People know what we are capable of doing. It’s about determination. It’s about capacity. It’s about competence, but above all, character, and of course, compassion. 

"I want to tell Emuhi people, that since you fruit harvesting area, what we do is to fruit juice factory, this I will do when I become the governor of the state. 

"There cannot be good development without a good road, I will tar the Emuhi road also.
