Edo Central Senatorial bye-election: Group declares support for LP’s Engr. Osereme Omofoma 

As the people of Edo Central Senatorial District in Edo State awaits the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce a date for the bye-election in the district, a group under the aegis of Alliance for Concerned Edo Central Citizens for Unity (ACECCU) has unanimously endorsed Engr. Osereme Christen Omofoma, the  Labour Party aspirant, for Edo central  senatorial position.

The president of the group, Elder Anthony Osezele Anetor, disclosed this in a communique issued to Journalists after the group meeting, held in Uromi, Esan North East local Government Area of the State.

According to elder Osezele Anetor, the  forum decision was born out of their convictions that the Labour Party aspirant was highly competent and capable to offer quality representation in the district.

Elder Anetor, also recalled that Engr. Osereme Christen Omofoma who is not in government but has started attracting meaningful projects to the senatorial district  changing the narrative of governance.

Elder Anthony Osezele Anetor said: “we have reviewed the political developments in the state and Edo Central in particular and we have decided to add our strong voices to it. Our decisions are far reaching as stakeholders and leaders of Edo central zone.

“We have noted the calibre and competence of aspirants of all the political parties interested so far in the forthcoming by-election in Edo central senatorial district and collectively endorsed the Labour Party aspirant, Engr. Osereme Christen Omofoma  for the position.

“We make this decision passionately without fear of contradiction. Edo central senatorial district  needs a capable, intelligent person  to represent us at this time. Engr. Osereme Christen Omofoma  has shown competence and capacity to offer quality services to the district.

“We are bold to say that in the last general election, Engr. Osereme Christen Omofoma was a popular candidate of the Labour Party who was loved by all but unfortunately his victory was marred by irregularities.

“In this endorsement, we totally distance ourselves from any other adoptions and urge all the people of Edo central senatorial district to support the ambition of the Labour Party aspirant, Engr. Osereme Christen Omofoma.”

He further called on the people of Edo central senatorial district to support the ambition of the Engr. Omofoma’s Labour Party in the bye election.
